C660D-18R (PSC20E-00L00WHU) after BIOS update Black screen

Dear Users,

I updated my laptop BIOS (1.60-WIN) from Toshiba website, and now cannot turn on...
Can i repair BIOS with Crisis recovery, or etc?!
Have you any older BIOS?!

Hallo

an older BIOS do not help.
The Crisis Disk only Helps in 2 of 10 Cases. The Risk is that you damage with that Disk more then now.
For a crisis Disk you have to identify the Mainboard exactly with Partnumber , search if for this Board a Disc exist and try.
Here in the Shop that procedure is wasted time ( Success 2 of 10 )
So normaly we open the Unit , desolder the BIOS Chip , Programm it external in a Epromer and resolder again ..... Thats working 99% if done in a Shop.

Im sooo unhappy, becouse i belived in Crisis recovery.. I tried a lot of buttons, when i turn on my laptop, but nothing happened. I tried lot of bios names..

Ok, I have one CH341A programmer. I try to Flash without desolder the BIOS chip. ...but i cannot understand it, why Toshiba upload a wrong BIOS...

Hallo

the BIOS you downloaded is fine for Shure .
Most Times for a Failed flash are reasons on the Notebook.

It it impossible to Flash a Chip in Circuit !!!! Trust me - i know what i am Talking about. if you try you can damage the Programmer and the Mainboard.

If you do not have the right tools to desolder - go to a Shop where they have the Tools.

I can ask in our technician Group if there is somebody located in Hungary who can do that Job. or you send the Unit to me to Germany.

Hallo zusammen,

ich stehe vor dem selben Problem. Für meine Schwägerin habe ich ihr Satellite C660D-1F1 PSC-1YE überholt, RAM aufgerüstet, SSD eingebaut und auf WIN10 geupdated....zum Schluss natürlich dann noch der obligatorischen Blick auf die Herstellerseite, ob es da noch ein aktuelleres BIOS gibt...und die 1.60 ?installiert?. Ihr Sohn sollte das Satellite eigentlich zu Weihnachten bekommen, um es für Hausaufgaben und erste Schritte im Internet zu nutzen, denn dafür ist das C660D noch mehr als ausreichend. Wie bei vielen anderen blieb aber nach dem Update der Bildschirm schwarz. Ich finde es eine Frechheit von Toshiba, das offensichtlich fehlerhafte BIOS Update seit Jahren auf der Seite anzubieten, ohne den Kunden vor dem Update zu warnen und eine fehlerfreie Version anzubieten.

Ich wollte nun fragen, ob mir jemand bei der Beseitigung des Problems helfen kann, da ich mir den Eingriff mittels CH341A USB BIOS Programmer nicht so richtig zutraue.

Hallo,

du stehst nicht nur vor dem Problem den Chip zu programmieren sonder auch ihn ohne etwas zu beschädigen aus und wieder ein zu löten.
Mit Kolben aus dem Baumarkt machst du das Board kaputt.
Lass es auf jeden Fall jemanden machen der SMD löten kann und auch die richtigen Tools hat.
Es gibt unterschiedliche Programmer die den Chip programmieren können und nicht nur den 341
Ich selber schreibe die Chips hier mit einem Batronix BX48
